Scientific cooperation in metal recycling (ReCoMet)
Principal Investigator: prof. Ing. Tomáš Havlík, DrSc.
Acronym: ReCoMet
Annotation: Since November 2015, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has been subsidising a two-year scientific cooperation project in the field of metal recycling (ReCoMet). This project is carried out by two highly renowned scientific research institutions, the Department of Processing and Recycling (I.A.R.), RWTH Aachen University, Germany and the Institute of Recycling Technologies, Faculty of Metallurgy, Technical University of Košice. The project is addressed in the form of infrastructural and strategic networking with the aim of concentrating knowledge in the field of metal recovery from poor raw materials.
The collaboration will result, among other things, in a technical study with the working title "Metal Recycling: Opportunities and Obstacles". The study will incorporate the joint knowledge and expertise of the two sites acquired during the project in order to identify research gaps in the field of metals recycling. At the same time, joint workshops, conferences and seminars will be held for members of both institutions and industrial partners of both countries interested in such cooperation.
This project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, number 01DS15023. This paper is the intellectual property of the investigators of the above mentioned project.
